This 400th anniversary campaign, carried out throughout 2013, is finished. The work to honor treaties with Native Nations and protect the Earth continues. Learn more, or join in that work: contact the Onondaga Nation, Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation, Neetopk Keetopk (Hudson Valley), Onondaga Canoe and Kayak Club or Two Row Paddle down the Grand (2016).

More Water Rescue Training Available

Practice Paddle

Come on out and practice your water rescue skills. The more people who are prepared to help themselves and one another the safer we’ll be!

Near the end of the first leg paddle from Onondaga to Albany, a woman overturned her canoe near the Mabee Farm. A group of some 20 people watched without anyone jumping in to help, perhaps because they weren’t sure what to do.

Hickory Edwards will be leading 3 more water rescue trainings before we hit the Hudson River.  Please join us for one or more if you can. All will be held at Oneida Shores, north of Syracuse.  Contact Hickory, 315-775-7548 to register or if you have questions.
